What UniClip does and does not do with what you copy.
Last updated 30 September 2026
Your clipboard stays on your network
When your devices are on the same local network, what you copy travels directly between them. It does not pass through our servers, and we never receive it.
Clipboard contents are never written to our logs, never stored in our database, and never retained after they are delivered.
What travels between your devices
Everything exchanged between your devices is encrypted end to end. Each pair of devices proves its identity to the other before anything is sent, and the encryption keys are created fresh for each connection, so a key recovered later cannot decrypt an earlier session.
When you copy a file, only its name and size are sent. The file itself is transferred only if you paste it, and only to the device you pasted on.
What we do store
- Your account: email address, name, and a password stored only as a cryptographic hash.
- Your devices: the name and platform you chose, a public key used to verify the device, and when it was last seen.
- Your subscription: its status and renewal date. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
Removing a device or your account
Revoking a device immediately stops it from exchanging anything with your other devices, and its key is no longer trusted by them.
You can ask us to delete your account and everything associated with it. Because clipboard contents are never stored, there is nothing of that kind to remove.
